PINEVILLE, La. (LCNews) – Louisiana College’s Business Student Association is giving back to the CENLA community through a financial literacy workshop Nov. 18 – 19, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Granberry Conference Center.
“Our Vision of Preparing Graduates and Transforming Lives includes the biblical principles of stewardship and service to others,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, president of Louisiana College. “I am grateful for the kind of leadership we have at Louisiana College that would envision this project, and for students who have the compassion to help deliver it.”
Students from Louisiana College’s Personal Financial Planning class will offer 20-minute segments of information and instruction on each of the topics noted below, and both sessions will feature a guest speaker from Red River Bank, the workshop’s sponsor.
Topics at the two-night workshop will include: Banking and Credit, Saving and Spending Money, Managing Finances, Building Wealth, and Planning for Retirement, and will be drawn from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation publication, FDIC: Money Smart: Building Knowledge, Security, and Confidence.
